The Preparatory Module is designed for children aged 8 years onwards who are ready for structured arithmetic development. It includes 4 levels, with each level typically planned over 4 months. This stage builds the foundation for confident addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, BODMAS readiness, and mental calculation.
The program focuses on helping students become fluent with core operations while also supporting school mathematics. Children learn to solve with method, accuracy, and speed, supported by abacus visualisation and daily practice.
Numerical fluency means working with numbers accurately, efficiently, and confidently. In the Preparatory Module, children strengthen operation sense, calculation methods, visual memory, and practice discipline. This fluency becomes the base for higher multiplication, division, integers, and advanced arithmetic.
MathPath develops speed only after the child understands the method. The sequence is clear: concept clarity, guided practice, error correction, repetition, confidence, and then speed. This prevents children from rushing or guessing.
